Many suppliers of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) are already bracing up to follow the chip foundry giant to Arizona, with little choice in the matter, according to Alex Lee, CEO and founder of Quantum International Corp. (QIC), a research-based capital market advisor in Taiwan.
“The US$100 billion investment in Arizona is a growing pain that TSMC must make for long-term growth,” Lee stated at a QIC press conference, emphasizing that the investment is not only strategically sound but also beneficial for the growth of its supply chain and ecosystem partners.
QIC has identified 114 companies within TSMC’s supply chain, including C Sun and Gallant Precision Machining (GPM). “I see this as an opportunity that we cannot afford to miss,” explained Frank Liang, CEO of C Sun and vice chairman and CEO of Gallant Precision Machining. “Meeting TSMC’s needs in Arizona is like an operational overload for us. We must participate in that Normandy D-Day landing, or perhaps the Manhattan Project, except the man behind it today is C.C. Wei, not Dr. Oppenheimer.”
